What are your pick-up and drop-off times?

How much time should I allow for picking up & dropping off my dog?

Our drop-off hours are:

  • Monday-Friday
    7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday
    9:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. 

If you pick up before 2:00 p.m. on the day of departure you will not be charged for an additional day. During our peak season / holidays, we require that you pick up before 11:00 a.m., and drop off no earlier than 2:00 p.m. to allow us to properly clean & prepare runs for that day’s arriving canine guests. Please note, because we need a full staff on hand to care for the dogs on Sundays there is a Sunday pick-up charge (equivalent to the cost of one day of boarding). Please allow approximately ten to fifteen minutes for the drop-off and pick-up process, so we may have time to gather accurate activity, feeding & medication instructions for your dog(s), enter updated vaccinations, answer any questions you may have, and collect your luggage for you.

Can my friend or family member drop off and/or pick up my dog?

If you are unable to drop off your dog, please be sure to send detailed written feeding, medication, and activity instructions with him. If you know a friend or family member will drop off your dog, you may also give us a call before your dog’s arrival to fill out the paperwork over the phone. Please make sure to send updated vaccination records with your dog as well.

Vaccination Requirements

If you are unable to pick up your dog, please give us the names of individuals we may release your dog to on the day of departure. If you like, we can check their IDs as well. Please let us know how you would like to settle the balance, we can use the card we have on file, or you can send a form of payment with your friend/family member.

 

How many toys & personal belongings may I bring for my dog?

We allow each boarding guest to have up to 2 personal items while boarding (examples of personal items include: beds, blankets, toys, Nylabones, etc.). Food and medications do not count as personal items. If you like, you may bring additional must-have items for your dog while boarding, for an additional cost. Please note that we do provide in-house beds and bowls for all our boarding guests.

What is a special needs charge?

Does my dog qualify for this charge, and why?

A special need charge of $5/day is applicable for dogs with more than two food items per day, two or more daily medications to administer, or other special care needs or requests that require additional time and effort for our kennel technicians to properly care for your dog.

 

Should I bring my dog’s own food for their stay?

We recommend that you bring your dog’s own food for their stay. It is easier on your dog’s digestive system to continue eating their own food while boarding. However, if you prefer, we can feed our in-house food (Five Star Fromm Adult Chicken & Rice dry dog food). We do not have in-house canned or wet food. If your dog requires more than two types of food daily, they will incur a special needs charge of $5/day added to the cost of their stay, due to extended food preparation time for our kennel technicians.

 

What if my dog takes medication on a daily basis?

Can your Kennel Technicians administer their medication?

We would be happy to administer your dog’s medications. We will gather specific information about the types of medication, dosage, and how your dog best takes their medications (ex: with peanut butter or using your own pill pockets) upon arrival. If your dog requires 2 or more medications daily, or has a medication with detailed instructions or injections (ex: insulin injections), they will incur a special needs charge of $5/day added to the cost of their stay, due to the time required for extended care.

 

Are you open on the weekends for pick-up and drop-off?

We are open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for pick-up and drop-off, and on Sundays for pick-up only from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are not open for drop-offs on Sundays. Please note, because we need a full staff on hand to care for the dogs on Sundays, there is a Sunday pick-up charge (equivalent to the cost of one day of boarding).

 

What will you do if my dog has a problem and I can’t be reached because I’m out of town?

We will always call you first and make you aware of the situation. If your dog has a health problem or an urgent issue while boarding and we are unable to reach you, we will then call your emergency contact (on your dog’s information sheet). We will take your dog directly to your vet if needed, or to the nearby emergency center vet if your vet is not nearby or if the situation is especially urgent. The fee for transportation to a Katy vet is $50/visit, and for transportation to a vet outside of the immediate Katy area is $75/visit (plus the amount of the invoice from the vet). If your vet is not within a 10 mile radius of our facility, we will have your pet treated at a reputable vet near Canine Country Club.

 

What is daycare?

Can my dog do daycare while boarding?

Daycare is group play with other dogs in a supervised group. We do offer daycare for boarding dogs; in a Luxury Cabana suite daycare is an included activity. In our other accommodations daycare is $20 for a half day (4 hours or less) or $28 for a full day (more than 4 hours). In order to be eligible for daycare, your dog must be spayed or neutered, pass a temperament test, and be up to date on the vaccines we require for boarding (see below). A temperament test is an evaluation by one of our trainers, and has a one-time cost of $25/dog. The temperament test is done by appointment only.

 

What is the cost for boarding?

Our new Luxury Cabana rate will apply to all reservations made on or after October 30, 2021 for boarding reservations that begin on January 3, 2022.

All prices are per dog, and dogs from the same family may share a suite at a discounted price. The second dog in the same family sharing a suite is 25% off per day, and the third & fourth dogs sharing a suite are each 50% off per day. If you pick up before our check-out time of 2 p.m. on the day of departure, you will not be charged for the last day of your stay. 

 

What if my dog is a chewer, and causes damage to their suite?

If your dog causes damage to their suite while boarding that needs repair for the next guest, the owner will be responsible for the cost of repairs (minimum repair charge is $75). We will take pictures of the damage for you to see, if you’d like. Dogs likely to cause damage to a room should stay in our Back Nine suites, which are less prone to damage. If your dog loves to dig & you think he may tear the AstroTurf in our runs, you may also request that he not have free access to his attached backyard.

 

What vaccines does my dog need?

As of October 30, 2021, we require your dog be fully vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper/Hepatitis/Lepto/Parvo combo, and Bordetella (annually or bi-annually). Influenza is strongly recommended, but not required at our facility. 

We are strongly recommending the Canine Influenza vaccine for all of our guests, but are not requiring it at this time. We encourage you to talk to your vet about whether your dog should get the vaccine.

Please be advised, should your Bordetella and other vaccines not be up to date according to our policy, you could be turned away.

 

Covid-19 Practices

We continue to offer valet service to our clients and will announce soon when our lobby will re-open to our clients. Our facility has state of the art HALO lights in the air conditioning and heating systems designed to kill airborne viruses.

 

Peak Season

Peak season flat rate daily $5 fee and a minimum 3 night stay will occur on the following dates annually:

  • Columbus Day weekend:
    Friday before Columbus Day through Tuesday
  • Thanksgiving holiday:
    Friday before Thanksgiving Day through Monday after Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas holiday:
    December 20 through January 4
  • Spring Break:
    Second Friday of March through last Monday of March
  • Easter weekend:
    Friday before Easter Sunday through Monday after Easter Sunday
  • Memorial Day weekend:
    Friday before Memorial Day through Tuesday
  • 4th of July holiday:
    July 1 through 6
  • Labor Day weekend:
    Friday before Labor Day through Tuesday

 

Why is there so much paperwork involved with boarding my dog?

Your dog’s health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. As part of your stay, we are very thorough with the intake process, in order to ensure the best care for your dog. We understand the process can feel tedious, and we appreciate your patience with the necessary forms and paperwork involved with boarding. We need all of this information in order to provide your dog with the best care and so that we can treat your dog like our own.
